Dylan has hit rock bottom. Despite being a womanizer, he is lonely. He's broke and is struggling to revive his once flourishing journalism career. Then he meets Alexa Grant, and Dylan realizes she could be the answer to his dilemma.

As a former call girl, Alexa has had it tough. She wants to turn her life around, working tirelessly to get her degree in Business Management at Stanford. When Dylan proposes that she lets him write a piece about her experiences, she is hesitant to expose herself. Letting him into her life isn't a walk in the park, but his earnestness and wit get through her defenses.

The more time they spend together, the harder it is to deny the attraction simmering between them, but is it enough for Alexa to open her heart?

The Journalist is a steamy standalone contemporary romance novel. It’s only recommended for audiences 18+. No cheating. No cliffhangers. Guaranteed HEA.

The writing was excellent, but the story was a bit sad and dark. You will love the ending and enjoy the book, but it was a bit disturbing for me.

The Journalist A Sexy Contemporary Romance edition by Tia Lewis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

One of the things that I love the most about this author, is how she can write so rawly and give you from a naughty story to one that will break your heart.
Dylan is a journalist going through a dry spell for stories, until one night he finds an ID and he hit the jackpot.
Alexa knows what she wants. But she has to much pain inside and her past is not a bright one, like her future. One night she founds herself in a place where she didn't want it too, but is too late, one night changed everything for her.
He makes her a proposition, her story and friendship. But the more time they spend together. The more she wants him, but she knows that's impossible even after that one night of not controlling her desires.
Her past is too much, her pains is so raw, but she needs to survive and Dylan is the only one who can help her, specially when the feelings are mutual.
Tia Tia Tia, I just love your words and your stories, not a cliche one, not a boring one and with all the passion of a writer! I need more of her
Tia has written another great story. This made me laugh & cry. It is a very well written story of survival of two different people. Dylan is a reporter & needs a great story before he is fired. Alexa is a college student at Stanford & is a hooker. When Alexa propositions Dylan he says no to her. When she bumps into another man she drops her ID card & he sees where she goes to school. Alexa may be the story he needs to get back on track. He chases her down & they go to a hotel where he pitches his idea to her. He wants to do a story about her being a hooker while also going to college. She agrees to it as long as they don't use her real name. Alexa hasn't been with a man for a year because of something happening to her. Alexa told Dylan about it on their first night but still kept some things to herself. While doing the interviews Dylan & Alexa start having a sexual relationship. That is all Alexa can handle right now. When she receives shocking news she runs off & finds herself in a bad place. Will Dylan make it in time before something bad happens? Will Dylan be able to help her get past what has happened to her? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Dylan was once a sought after journalist with a promising career though he is currently hovering at that bottom barely handing on to what is left of his career at the young age of 27. He can't even remember how he got here. Even though he usually has no trouble picking up women he finds himself drinking & utter alone in a bar. As he looks out & scans the other people in the bar a beautiful young woman catches his attention. When he looks up again she is crossing the bar & approaching him. After they chat for a bit, she introduces herself as Alexa & it comes out that she is a hooker. Dylan declines to go with her but when she leaves she drops something that peaks his journalistic curiosity & just might revitalize his career. It takes some doing but Dylan talks Alexa into letting him tell her story of how a prostitute is also a student at the prestigious Sanford University. When they begin to spend time together interviewing for Dylan's article it becomes increasing more & more difficult for each of them to deny their growing mutual attraction to each other. But they both have past secrets that they don't want to let out in the open & are unwilling to share with anyone. Will the budding attraction between Dylan & Alexa amount to anything? Will either of them every be able to trust the other with their secrets? When Alexa is devastated by an unexpected lose will she turn to Dylan for help?

The Journalist is a compelling read, it is not just a love story about two broken people but also a story about how woman sometimes find themselves in circumstances that are beyond their control. And when this happens to some & finances are the determining fact, some women turn to the only thing they possess to make money...... they sell their bodies. Our heroine finds her way out through an experience that is unimaginable & the support of a couple of friends. But this is fiction & the book does mention how in many cases the women who turn to prostitution aren't that lucky to get away. My usual reason for reading is to be entertained, I have a good but stressful job & home situation (I have a disabled husband) so diving into the 'unreal' gives me an outlet. This book however made me think a lot while reading it & when I finished. It is not a bad thing just not what I normally look for in a book. There may be some triggers in this book for some, there is a rape scene & should be read with that in mind. This book is meant for mature readers.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
I absolutely loved this book. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy. At 27, Dylan thought he'd further along his career than he is. Then he sees her. Alexa propositions him and he says no. But she drops a card and he sees she goes to Stanford. He's thinking he can interview her for a story. She's not sure she'd want to. He can't find her number but miraculously, he finds her and she'll do it but with a fake name. He gets to know her and understands her issues. I love how close they get. He fears he's just an experiment and that she may fall into the arms of someone else. My heart breaks as she learns something happens-she disappears and is almost raped. Will Dylan be able to find her? What a great heartfelt book. I loved getting both pov, a happy ever after and no cliffhanger. I highly recommend this book.
I had such high hopes for this book. In the beginning, it started well, but then suddenly the plot slows to a crawl. Just getting to the point where I stopped reading was a trial. I wanted to keep going but just couldn't.
I read this book to learn about romance writing. I wound up enjoying every chapter. Actually I was afraid of how it might end. I didn't want to see Alexa hurt again. It could have gone several ways, but turned out surprisingly well. A satisfying read for me.
The writing was excellent, but the story was a bit sad and dark. You will love the ending and enjoy the book, but it was a bit disturbing for me.
